Beginning

Raised in New Jersey, Adam’s journey began with a passion for human resource management, which he pursued at the University of Maryland, College Park. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management in 1997, Adam’s early years were marked by his active involvement in various organizations, including Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and his internship at Shady Grove Medical Center under the Chief Operations Officer. His leadership skills were evident as he co-chaired the NAMES Project for the University of Maryland and served as Vice President of SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere).

Thomson Reuters and Citigroup

Adam’s professional career took flight in New York City at Thomson Reuters Corporation, where he worked as a Human Resources Associate from 1998 to 2000. His dedication and expertise in the functional area of total rewards quickly propelled him to Citigroup, where he took on a role on Citicorp’s Compensation team supporting its integration with Traveler’s Group, one of the largest financial services mergers in history.  His performance elevated him to a Vice President of Compensation in the Corporate and Investment Bank.  Supporting the creation of Citigroup’s Global Business Services organization, Adam demonstrated his advanced technical expertise and keen business acumen as he consolidated the jobs, compensation, and incentives of several business units within Citigroup.

Honeywell International

In 2005, Adam joined Honeywell International Inc., where he held roles in Transportation Systems and in Global Engineering and Operations. Adam worked to restructure the sales incentive compensation structures of both the Consumer Products Group and Friction Materials organizations.  He also supported the Honeywell Operating Model by incorporating incentives into the lean manufacturing process.  His efforts in standardizing the US/Canada overtime policy across Transportation Systems achieved significant savings.  He earned a Six Sigma Green Belt for his contributions to the manufacturing organization. At Global Engineering and Operations, his work spanned across India, China, and the Czech Republic, where he developed and implemented new job competency and performance models accompanied with pay and incentive compensation strategies. His innovative approach and ability to confront challenges head-on made him a dependable business partner and recognized subject matter expert.

Capital One Financial

Adam’s journey continued to flourish as he joined Capital One Financial as the Senior Compensation Manager for the Commercial Bank. His leadership in incentive compensation processes and evaluations of compensation programs further solidified his reputation as a leader in the field. Adam’s ability to navigate complex organizational and operational issues was evident as he implemented resolutions around failed internal and external audits for incentive compensation.

Tyco International (now Johnson Controls)

At Tyco International (later becoming Johnson Controls), Adam took on the role of Associate Director of Total Rewards, leading strategy and execution for Tyco’s fire, life, and safety organizations.  His work in mergers and acquisitions, organization design changes, and incentive-based rewards showcased his ability to navigate complex global environments. He later took on the North American Integrated Solutions and Services business, recalibrating the incentives and commissions built around profit and loss owners.  Overseeing the Global Engineering Office, he developed an Engineering Fellowship program for exceptional, industry-leading employees.  Adam’s creativity and integrative thinking were instrumental in designing total compensation solutions with limited guidance in a highly complex matrix global environment.

John Wiley and Sons

Adam’s journey then led him to John Wiley and Sons, based out of Hoboken, New Jersey, where he served as the Rewards Director. He led the total rewards strategy and execution globally for Wiley Education Services and portions of the Education Publishing organization. His efforts in redesigning sales and discretionary incentive programs and integrating acquired companies were instrumental in supporting the company’s growth strategy. Adam’s leadership in the job architecture project as the Program Manager and Lead Subject Matter Expert was a testament to his ability to drive change and innovation.

ConcertAI

In 2021, Adam joined ConcertAI as the Senior Director of Total Rewards. His leadership in compensation, health and wellness, HR management systems, and performance management was pivotal in developing and operationalizing the company’s rewards philosophy and strategy. Adam’s work in designing competency development and career progression programs left a lasting impact on the company culture. His ability to manage and analyze profit interest equity programs and oversee annual performance, compensation, and benefits processes showcased his expertise in the field.

Party City Holdings, Inc.

Most recently, Adam had been with Party City Holdings, Inc., where he served as the Senior Director of Total Rewards. His responsibilities included leading compensation, health and wellness, and HR management systems for the enterprise. Adam’s dedication to developing and communicating the company’s rewards philosophy and strategy had been instrumental in aligning organizational structures and managing his teams. In addition to his subject-matter expertise in compensation, his ability to manage health and wellness teams, benefits brokers, and HR management systems had been crucial in ensuring the company’s success.

Throughout his career, Adam’s expertise in global total rewards, mergers and acquisitions, job architecture, incentive compensation, sales compensation, equity programs, retention programs, health and wellness programs, and retirement programs has been evident. His journey is a testament to the power of creativity, integrative thinking, and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude in achieving success and leadership in the world of total rewards.
